Use the Register as a Buyer form on the contact page. You provide your name, contact details, the type of business you are looking for, the regions you are interested in, and your approximate budget. We will contact you to discuss your requirements in more detail and match you with suitable opportunities as they come to market. Many of the businesses we handle are never publicly listed, registering ensures you are considered for opportunities that are only presented to our registered buyer network.

The release of information follows a staged process to protect the confidentiality of each business and its owner. Initially you will receive an anonymous summary describing the type of business, approximate location, and financial overview. If you wish to proceed further, you will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. After signing, you will receive a more detailed information document that identifies the business and provides fuller financial and operational detail. Detailed accounts, management figures, and property documentation are provided to buyers who are progressing seriously and have demonstrated genuine funding capacity.

You do not need formal finance approval in place before viewing, but you should have a clear understanding of your funding position and be able to demonstrate it when asked. We ask all buyers to confirm how they intend to fund a purchase, whether from personal savings, a business acquisition loan, a combination of the two, or another source, before detailed financial information is shared. This protects the sellers on our books from time-wasters and ensures that serious buyers are not competing for access with people who have no realistic means to complete a purchase.

Once you make an offer, the seller will consider it, often with our guidance on structure and terms. If the offer is acceptable in principle, heads of terms will be agreed setting out the key terms of the deal. You will then appoint a solicitor to handle the legal process, and due diligence will begin. Due diligence typically takes four to eight weeks. On completion, the business transfers to you along with the agreed assets, staff under TUPE, and any other included elements.
