Help & Support

Help with selling your salon or beauty business

Practical, specialist help at every stage of selling a UK health and beauty business. No pressure, no obligation, and the first conversation is always free.

Where to start

The kind of help we provide

BuyMySalon works exclusively with owners of UK hair, beauty, nails, aesthetics, spa and wellbeing businesses. We are a specialist brokerage, not a general business sales firm, which means every conversation begins from a sector-specific understanding of how your business operates, what buyers will value, and what they will challenge.

Whether you intend to sell next month or in two years, the practical help below is available without obligation. If you are unsure which area is most relevant, the simplest place to begin is a confidential conversation with one of our specialists.

What we help with

Four areas where most owners need support

Understanding what your business is worth

Most owners overestimate or underestimate by a wide margin. We talk you through how UK health and beauty businesses are actually valued, what buyers look at, and where your business sits in the range — before you commit to anything.

Request a confidential valuation

Getting your accounts and lease sale-ready

A clean set of three-year accounts, a documented add-back position, and a lease with at least four years to run will materially change the price you can achieve. We tell you exactly what to fix and in what order.

Reducing owner dependency before you market

If most of the revenue walks out of the door with you, buyers will discount the price or structure part of it as a deferred payment. We help you plan a twelve-month transition so the business stands on its own.

Understanding the full sale process

From valuation and information memorandum through buyer qualification, viewings, heads of terms, due diligence and completion, every step is documented so you know what is coming next.

What to expect

Your first conversation with us

A first call typically takes twenty to thirty minutes. We listen first, then talk through what is relevant to your situation. There is no script and nothing to sign.

  • An honest view on whether now is the right time to sell, or whether to wait and prepare.
  • An indicative value range based on the figures you can share, with the assumptions explained.
  • The two or three things that would most increase your business's saleability and price.
  • A clear explanation of how we work, what we charge, and what happens if you decide to proceed.
  • No follow-up pressure. We never chase. If you want to take a year to prepare, that is a sensible decision.
FAQ

Common questions before getting in touch

Is the first conversation really free?
Yes. We do not charge for an initial conversation, an indicative valuation discussion, or a review of whether now is the right time for you to sell. We only charge when you formally instruct us to take a business to market, and our fee structure is shared in writing before any commitment.
Do I have to be ready to sell now?
No. A large share of our conversations are with owners who are twelve to twenty-four months away from a sale and want to use that time well. Early planning consistently produces better outcomes than rushing to market when you have already decided to leave.
Will my staff or clients find out I am thinking about selling?
No. Every conversation is treated as confidential. We never approach buyers, name your business, or share identifying details without your written authority. If and when we go to market, your business is presented anonymously until a buyer has signed a non-disclosure agreement and been qualified.
What if I am not sure my business is sellable?
Tell us about it anyway. Many businesses that owners assume are not sellable are perfectly viable for the right buyer, and the parts that genuinely are weak can usually be improved before going to market. An honest conversation costs nothing and either confirms a path forward or saves you wasted effort.
How long does selling a salon usually take?
From formal instruction to completion, a well-prepared single-site salon typically takes six to nine months. Multi-site or aesthetics businesses with regulatory complexity can take nine to twelve. Businesses with lease, accounting or staffing issues that need to be fixed first take longer overall but are much more likely to actually complete.
